Festival Poster Competition, deadline Dec 31, 2004 |

The Seattle Polish
Film Festival announced a poster competition for the 2005 PFF poster.
The next edition of the Festival is in April, 2005. The competition is
opened to all. The winner will receive $100 prize and a Festival pass and the winning
design will be featured on the PFF poster and other Festival materials.
The deadline is Dec 31, 2004; the winner will be announced by Feb 1,
2005.

Machulski is a Polish director known for
knack for criminal comedies. His latest movie
Vinci, released in 2004,
is a comedy involving a heist of the famous painting
Lady with Ermine by
Leonardo da Vinci; the real painting being
the biggest treasure of the Czartoryski
Museum in Cracow, Poland.

This play set in
1895 in
Cracow, Poland,
incorporates several Polish carols and authentic woodcarvings related to
Christmas and Christian topics, such as the Last Supper. All the
woodcarvings are work by Polish artist, Mr. Malinowski, and have been
collected by Russ & Phyllis Roberts while they were working in
Poland
in 1997-1999. The carvings are a centerpiece and a recurring
topic of the play that tells the story of
love, loss, pain and healing.

and American carols! The traditional evening of singing carols at the
Polish Home shall be better than ever as both the Polish Choir and the
cabaret singers from the Polish Home are going to perform and then sing
along with all present. Everybody's invited, and in case you forget the
words, the lyrics are supplied! Santa Claus is also expected to bring
sweets and some surprises so please come and enjoy this great evening!

finishes trek at Microsoft campus |

After skating over
3,000 miles, Krzysztof Dzienniak will go for the last leg of his trek on
Monday morning to arrive at Microsoft Redmond campus about 11 am. Please
come to show him your support by rooting for him at the finish line!
After greeting by Microsoft PR people he will have lunch with Polish
Microsoft employees and then would tour the company. To support his goal
of raising money for the two girls back in
Poland, please donate money to SOS Children
Villages, which is a charity with branches in
USA and in
Poland.

is a roller-skater from Warsaw
who skates across the American continent to
Redmond. He started from
New York on Aug 28, 2004 and
as of Dec 1 near
Snoqualmie Pass
on I-90. His stated goal is to meet Bill Gates to bring to his attention
the situation of two girls from
Poland,
7 year old Monika who was born with hydrocephalitis and 10 year old
Patrycja who lost a foot in an accident. Mr. Dzienniak will talk about
his great adventure and his mission.

An event for
children building on Polish traditions for St. Nicolas's Day (Dec 6).
This year the main attraction is a play based on Christian Andersen’s
classic tale The Little Match Girl
performed by the "Mlodzi
Polanie" children group from the PHA. After
the play Santa Claus arrives with presents and candies for the children.
The restaurant will be open from 1:30 pm till after the party.
