Come to sing Polish
and American carols! The traditional evening of singing carols at the
Polish Home shall be better than ever as both the Polish Choir and the
cabaret singers from the Polish Home are going to perform and then sing
along with all present. Everybody's invited, and in case you forget the
words, the lyrics are supplied! Santa Claus is also expected to bring
sweets and some surprises so please come and enjoy this great evening!

An event for
children building on Polish traditions for St. Nicolas's Day (Dec 6).
This year the main attraction is a play based on Christian Andersen’s
classic tale The Little Match Girl
performed by the "Mlodzi
Polanie" children group from the PHA. After
the play Santa Claus arrives with presents and candies for the children.
The restaurant will be open from 1:30 pm
till after the party.

This is a
traditional Mikolajki
party organized by the Society for Polish Culture. In the program: a
short performance, Santa Claus’s visit with presents, sharing of
Christmas wafers, singing of Polish carols and taking pictures with
Santa Claus.

Polish tradition, Andrzejki
(a party on St. Andrew’s eve, Nov 30) was the last party of the year,
with some special customs such as divining future from pouring wax on
water. The evening will feature live music by the
Polonus band from
Portland.

The Polish Scout
Troop “Kaszuby” invites to their first meeting of the 2004/2005 school
year; both new scouts and cub scouts are invited to attend. The Polish
troop in Seattle
has been active for over 15 years and provides another venue for
immersing Polish-American kids into traditions of the old country. The
troop accepts children of any age, from kindergarten to high school and
is a friendly place to introduce your child to some tradition of the old
country and to scouting at the same time.

The Polish Scout
Troop “Kaszuby” invites all members of the Polish community, kids,
parents, grandparents and friends to a yearly bonfire and a singing
together. This event is open to everybody and you don’t have to be a
scout to come and enjoy games and traditional Polish scout & military
songs. Please note that due to space limitation this time around, the
scouts will not be able to serve hotdogs etc. as in years past; some
cookies for a good spirit will be there but this is all that is possible
this year! Come and enjoy the singing! Everybody is invited.

This is a
yearly picnic for the members and friends of the Polish Home
Association and their families. Come and share good food and
fun! There will be grills and tables available as well as free
drinks, hamburgers and hot dogs for kids and teenagers. A
casual volleyball game is a tradition at the PHA picnics and some
people always try to play soccer among the bushes, so get your
sport shoes ready! Everybody is
invited.

A tradition emerging right before your
eyes: this is the First Annual Chopin Foundation Picnic in
Seattle! Invited are all members, supporters and friends of the
Foundation as well as anybody interested in Chopin music. There
will be grilled Polish sausages, potato salad, pies and other
great foods and drinks as well as games to entertain and prizes
to surprise you. Watch for grill site and Polish, French and
American flags to join other Chopin enthusiasts at this little
charming park.

This is a special
dance evening in that it is also fundraiser for the ventilation
installation at the Polish Home: all the profits from the event will go
towards the ventilation / air conditioning fund. Ladies Auxiliary will
prepare a dinner included in your ticket price.
Dancing with the favorite local DJ, Marcin Ludowicz.
Organized by the Polish Home Assn & Ladies
Auxiliary. So far about $8,000 has been raised for the
ventilation project.
Update as of June 17:
the dance generated about $1000 in profit for the ventilation project.
